Current and Future Biathletes,
Summer 2009 Training:
Workouts will be held on Tuesday and Friday mornings, running from June 9 to Aug 14, 8 am – 10 am. We will not be meeting the week of July 14 +17, the same schedule as the Go! Training Program. Fees for these dates is $225. Shooting workouts are all held at the Elk River biathlon shooting range. Discounts available for returning athletes who recruit and sign up new biathletes to the full-summer program. Discounts also available for group/family sign-ups.
Rifle Rental:
Rifle rental is available for first-year biathletes. Fees are $150.
Ammunition:
We currently have a deal with Federal Ammunition for less expensive ammunition for summer training, at $20-$30 per brick of 500 rounds. Expect to use a minimum of 3 bricks throughout the summer training, plus 1.5 bricks for the shooting camp in June. You are strongly encouraged to purchase all 3 or 4 bricks at the start of summer.
June 18-20 – Grand Rapids Shooting Camp:
Focus will be on biathlon shooting training. We will shoot twice per day, establishing good position and technique. Secondary focus will be on rollerskiing – training and technique. The camp will wrap up with a Summer Biathlon race on the 20th. We will be staying at a cabin near Grand Rapids. $15/day Includes travel, use of training facilities, and breakfast/ lunches. Dinners will be extra. Cost will be about $100 total.
