Gregg and I have been working closely with Ariens to bring a fun-filled summer and fall roller ski and running biathlon series. Once a month from June through November, Ariens will be hosting this series. Although we haven’t ironed out all the details yet, there will be multiple race distances for all abilities. For those of you who aren’t roller skiers, there will be a running format as well.
Save these dates
Sunday, June 4th
Sunday, July 16th
Sunday, August 6th
Sunday, September 17th
Sunday, October 15th
Sunday, November 12th
Proposed schedule for each Sunday:
9:30 to 10:00 – Registration and course set up 10:00 to 10:45 – Zero
11:00 – Main races
12:00 – Novice races
Clean up between 1 and 2.
* Times subject to change
More details to come as we get closer to the first race in June.
There will be many opportunities to be involved for parents, family members and friends who will be attending but not racing. We will need volunteers to register racers, help with set up, assist with timing, handle target management, and complete course takedown.
Biathletes, if you can, please stick around after your events and help out with the novice races. Novice racers will greatly appreciate the help from more experienced athletes.
Spread the word, and we look forward to seeing you all this summer!

Conditions are good at Blackhawk considering there is no natural snow in southern WI. Our Snow makers did a great job getting the course and range ready. We will have a 1.0 and 1.3K loop for the races. The entire course has 1′ to 3′ of snow base and will ski fast. Race day temps are expected to be in the mid 20’s to upper 30’s degrees.
Registration closes on Wednesday evening 1/11/23 at midnight. Looking forward to seeing a good turnout. Please plan to help with races as we need volunteers to make the races a success. Currently we have over 40 racers registered for each day.
For those not attending the Blackhawk events, on Sunday the 15th, the MN Guard will be hosting an event at Camp Ripley. If you wish to attend, please contact me, Bill Meyer, directly by noon tomorrow- [Thursday]!!
I have 8 civilians registered and the Guard is expecting 8-10.
