Race Day #2 at 2019 USBA Junior Trials

At http://eabiathlon.org/ you can find all the results to date from
VT at US Biathlon Team Trials. Yesterday was a training day rather than today as was anticipated. Final race is tomorrow.

Note also the standings available. These are based on % back of the average of the top 3 in the race by class. After tomorrow’s shorter sprint [6 km women and 7.5 km men] each athlete’s top 2 scores will be used to determine final placement.

Our congrats to Garrett Beckrich..winner two days in a row!!

Our best to all the participants—today was sleet and wind.

URGENT 15 OCT DEADLINE: Mandatory Anti-Doping Education CERTIFICATE

For athletes that have not taken WADA Anti Doping Educational Seminar, please make sure you undertake it BEFORE OCTOBER 15th. If you don’t complete the trainings before then, you will not be eligible to start at any IBU event (e.g. World Cups, YJWCH, IBU Cups, etc).

ALL athletes who plan on competing in IBU events this season MUST COMPLETE the training. If you have previously taken the training last year, that will suffice (I think a lot of the juniors have already completed this training). If not, you need to complete the training by OCTOBER 15.

Below you will find links on how to complete either of the processes. Once you are finished, please send Preston (info@usbiathlon.org) your certificate of completion.

North American Biathlon Roller Ski Championships-Vermont

This weekend, the NorAm Biathlon Roller Ski Championships will be held in Jericho, VT at the Ethan Allen venue with a Sprint Race on Sat and a Mass Start/Pursuit Race on Sunday. From Minnesota 11 male and 6 female Biathletes will be competing including Jakob and Siena Ellingson, Vasek Cervenka, last season’s MN high school champ, Garrett Beckrich, Jake Brown, past State champ, Raleigh Goessling and Olympian, Leif Nordgren. The results from these races along with another roller ski series in Oct will be used by US Biathlon to name the team for the early IBU and World Cup races this coming winter.
The next event in MN will be at the Elk River range on Thursday the 23rd with 5:00 zero.
