Double double weekend Training – Nisswa

We are planning a full weekend of training in the Nisswa area for the Saturday/Sunday of May 30th and 31st. We have two small ranges, a lot of pavement with low traffic, and the Paul Bunyan State Trail. This will be for experienced biathletes. If in question as to whether this is for you, talk to me.

The tentative agenda [and I lied already—see five workouts below] will be as follows:

Saturday- arrive by 9:30
10:00 Pit Range—plyo combos for accuracy
Lunch to be announced
2:00 Cam’s range—TH combos on roller skis
4:00 long ski at BE
Dinner to be announced
Sunday– 9:00 4k, 8k or 12km time trial at Meyers—roller skiing
10:30 accuracy shooting 60 shot test at Pit range

Housing and costs to be determined. We will keep the cost very low in any case, unless you wish to stay at a nearby hotel, we do have a lot of those around. If camping interests you, let me know that—both Christiansen’s and I have a lot of yard space. We can both also house a lot of people.

So to help us in our planning, please indicate if this is of interest to you by this coming Saturday.

thanks
B

Rifle Collection Time!

It is that time of year again when we need to collect all MNBiathlon rifles. Your lease period is now over. If you have had a lease this past year you should be looking at purchasing a rifle of your own. The MN basic plan is to lease the rifles out for one year to Senior Boy/Girl/Youth [15,16,17, & 18]  and Junior [19,20] age biathletes. In some cases we have gone multiple years, but that will depend on the number of new athletes, your dedication and success in biathlon this past year, and your age and the availability.

There will be a shooting oriented weekend camp on May 16th and 17th at Mt Itasca. If you are attending that, you should bring any leased rifle to that camp. If you are not planning on attending you have 3 options:

  1.  turn it in to Piotr in the cities
  2.  to Bill in Nisswa
  3.  to Vlad in Grand Rapids

If you have a MNBiathlon rifle—please email Bill Meyer and indicate your plan on returning the rifle. [camp or 1,2,or 3]

Hope to see you at the camp.
Thanks,
Bill Meyer, Coach

MNCup race Nisswa cancelled

photoHi Everyone-
As you can see in the attached photo—we simply don’t have enough snow and none to speak of in the forecast. About 2” of loose snow on the trails and the grass sticking out was cut pretty short last fall.

We may try to reschedule in a few weeks depending on the weather.

Thanks,
Bill
