The ‘open class’ is both Seniors and Juniors combined together. Then the Juniors are also on a separate class result. I think both age classes carried rifles on the entire course while the Youth and younger did a shorter course plus some ‘rifle loops’.  

There are a number of Canadian biathletes competing also—and they often come down with really fast roller skis..almost rollerblade fast.

MN Biathlon August Camp – Sunday, August 14, 2022

Date: Sunday, August 14, 2022

Location: Snowflake Nordic, 4348 Rice Lake Road, Duluth (1/2 mile north of the intersection of the Rice Lake and Arrowhead Roads)

Registration: 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Snowflake Chalet (Late Arrivals go directly to range.  Way to range marked with signs.)

Cost:  $20 – Cash or checks only. Make checks payable to John Gould.

Training Schedule:

10:00 till Noon:  Dryfire and Shooting Drills at Range

Noon till 12:45:  Lunch at Chalet (Bring your own lunch.)

1:00 till 3:00:  Roller Skiing at Nearby Site 

                               a. Agility Course

                               b. Technique Drills

3:30 till 4:30: Two Person Relay Race/Running Biathlon

Bosek Biathlon Day Camp – July 9, 2022

Saturday, July 9th I will be hosting a day camp at my house.

We will have two groups of four.  When one group is shooting, the other group will be roller skiing.  We will switch after lunch.

Eight people will be the max and this camp will be geared towards the more experienced biathlete.  The shooting group will focus on shooting/shooting education.

We will start at 9:30 and finish up around 4:00.

The camp is free, but please bring your own ammo.

Lunch will be provided.

I will be at the race on Sunday, June 26th, if you have any questions.

Also, if there is bad weather on Saturday, we can have the camp on Sunday, July 10th.

Logistics for US Nationals in Lake Placid

US Biathlon Nationals is coming up and I am looking to coordinate logistics for those of you that are planning to go.  I will also be looking at putting together Midwest relay teams for those of you that are interested.

Minnesota Biathlon – Twin Cities Membership

In the last few years, we have been lax about requiring membership forms and dues for Minnesota Biathlon – Twin Cities. Membership is required to use the Elk River biathlon range. We have ongoing maintenance and supply expenses to run the range. It is time we got back to doing things “by the book”.

Attached you will find a membership form. If you want to use the Elk River biathlon range, you must be a member of MN Biathlon. In addition to range use, this also gets you required insurance.

The membership year runs from July 1 – June 30.

Please complete the form and send it back to me with your check.
