On Saturday, 3 March 2007, under stunning blue skies and a blanket of fresh white snow Greystone Biathlon held is annual winter race. Over thirty skiers participated in today’s event, including three skiers from the USA National Team. Experienced skiers had a long course (12.5k) to help prepare for the National race in Maine later this month.
Approximately, twenty novice skiers tried out Biathlon for the first time today, demonstrating a high degree of interest in this growing sport. Novices had two shooting rounds and completed a 3.5k course.
Both the 12.5k and 3.5k courses included the famous Greystone Granite Silos (walls) as part of the course. Special thanks to Bill Meyer of Nisswa Biathlon for serving as range master.
